some people just don’t like syrup. i’ll admit, my taste has fluctuated across the lines a few times. i blame my mom for that – she hates syrup. too thick, she says. too sweet, she says. it makes my pancakes soggy, she says. i totally get it. there are things i don’t like either (like most meat) so i can’t complain.
so, what’s the solution for syrup-itis people like my momma?
smother with butter.
or try honey. 🙂 and even better, infused honey. i think using dried apple slices to infuse honey would drizzle absolutely perfectley over these pear + buckwheat pancakes.
