plant a flower day saturday

hey pears! how was your weekend? mine was busy, yet relaxing. i helped with a community service project, worked out with opt, watched my little brother’s academic decathlon competition and gardened!

saturday was also “plant a flower day” and it was just a coincidence that i was going to help my club east valley rotaract plant our community garden at umom, then gardening in the afternoon

i grabbed a sunflower to plant in honor of the day. meet the little guy.

growing up my dad grew everything imaginable, and we even had a compost! i love fresh produce and decided garden segments would be a great addition to the blog.

i can’t wait to show you all some great recipe pearings with the fruits of my (and the boy’s) labor. 🙂

the garden includes eggplant and bell peppers.

strawberries.

tomatoes.

jalapenos, habaneros, pablano peppers(in the raw form, but also called ancho chili’s in the dry form) and sport peppers. also an artichoke plant, broccoli, arugula, onions, carrots, spinach, basil, cilantro, parsley, watermelon and canteloupe.

i’m super excited to share it all.

happy day!
